Procurement of USB-C AC power adaptors to support the needs of IT users at the Council.

Reasons for the decision

Guildford's ICT team issues and maintains ICT equipment for the Council. Working stock of some types of peripheral equipment is now low or exhausted. It was therefore considered necessary to purchase a small quantity to ensure stock is available to enable Officers and Councillors to perform their roles, and for any other scenario the ICT team is asked to support.

Alternative options considered

Quotes were sought for a range of IT peripherals from suppliers that the Council has purchased from previously. Two suppliers came back with options that were considered against the specification provided to them, with price being a significant part in the evaluation. As both options were suitable, the lower-cost option was chosen. As each product type was considered individually, the requirement for IT headsets was awarded to Advania UK (CCS) Ltd.
