Sought legal and procurement advice and agreed to procure a
six-month contract to Claireglow Ltd.

GBC do not have a contractor in place to deliver electrical
periodic inspection which is a statutory obligation.

This is a direct six-month award to the value of £179,000 as
a precursor to an open tender contract.

Reasons for the decision

GBC do not have a service provider to deliver
electrical test and inspections which is a breach of our statutory
obligations. This position is subject to self-reporting by GBC to
the Government regulator.

Alternative options considered

None. This is the only option to pursue and
therefore the quickest route to market. GBC must meet this
obligation and undertaking to ensure our residents are
safe.
