Procurement of additional laptops for
organisation use (Officer/Councillor devices)

Reasons for the decision

The Resource Case Services team in Guildford
oversees internal IT support, including the provision and
maintenance of laptops for Officers and Councillors. With the
current stock projected to be depleted within the next few weeks, a
decision was made to procure additional laptops. This will address
anticipated demand for the next 3 months and ensure a reserve is
available for unforeseen circumstances, such as hardware
failures.

Alternative options considered

Quotes were obtained from four alternative
suppliers previously used by the Council. These suppliers provided
a range of options, which were evaluated based on the required
specifications, delivery timescales, and cost. The option offering
the best value and suitability was selected.
