Decision

RESOLVED:

1. To approve the publication of the Local Plan Notice of Intention and Local Plan Timetable.
2. To approve any subsequent minor amendments to the Local Plan Timetable should be delegated to the Assistant Director of Planning and Building Control.

REASONS FOR DECISION

The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026 requires a local planning authority to prepare, in connection with the preparation of their local plan, and make available in accordance with regulation 88, a document to be known as their “notice of intention to commence local plan preparation”. It must be made publicly available and kept up-to-date on a monthly basis so that local communities and interested parties can keep track of progress.

The notice of intention to commence local plan preparation may contain the following information:

? the name of the local planning authority who have prepared the notice,

? the geographical area to which the local plan is to relate,

? the title, if any, by which the local planning authority will refer to the

  local plan,

? details of where the local planning authority’s local plan timetable is 

  published, and

? the date on which the notice is made available under 19(1).
