This is an application made by a member of the
public (‘The Applicant’) in 2013 under Section 53 of
the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, to record an existing public
footpath (recorded as Ellingham, Harbridge and Isbley Footpath 23a)
as a bridleway. The application is supported by user evidence which
in the applicant’s view demonstrates that higher rights
subsist over the footpath.

Having considered the evidence submitted with the application, and
undertaken additional research of historic documentary evidence, it
is considered that there are insufficient grounds to modify the
Definitive Map by recording the footpath as a bridleway.
