Decision

RESOLVED that a contract be awarded to Potter Raper for professional services in respect of the skatepark, MUGAs and tennis courts to the value of £178,675 if all sites are delivered.

Reasons for the decision

To support the delivery of the council’s corporate mission to ‘Secure our future’.

To enable the council to enter into a formal contract for the project management of the Harlow Skatepark, mulit-use-games-areas, and tennis court projects.

To enable the refurbishment of the existing facilities and provision of new facilities that enable more people to access the facilities.

Alternative options considered

There aren’t considered to be any viable alternative options. The only alternative option would be to do nothing. This would expose the council to risk as some of the facilities are in a poor condition and will deteriorate further if the refurbishments do not take place.
