About

The Audit and Governance Committee is responsible for overseeing the council's audit and corporate governance arrangements. This includes reviewing annual audit plans and reports from internal and external auditors, the council's system of internal control, and its risk management framework. The committee also focuses on the prevention and detection of fraud and corruption. A key responsibility is considering and approving the annual statement of accounts. Members of the public can ask questions at committee meetings.
