Health and Wellbeing Board

The Health and Wellbeing Board for Herefordshire has statutory functions under the Health and Social Care Act 2012, aiming to improve local health and wellbeing.

It encourages integrated working between health and social care providers, prepares a joint strategic needs assessment for the county, and develops a health and wellbeing strategy. The board reviews commissioning plans for NHS, public health, and social care to ensure they align with the strategy and prepares a local Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment. It also provides opinions to Herefordshire Council and NHS bodies on their duties regarding needs assessments and approves annual plans for the Better Care Fund.
