The West Mercia Energy Joint Committee oversees arrangements for the purchase and supply of energy for four local authorities: Shropshire Council, Herefordshire Council, Borough of Telford & Wrekin Council, and Worcestershire County Council.

Its primary objective is to ensure these energy purchasing arrangements are effective, efficient, and economical for the member authorities. The committee also has the ability to provide these services to other public bodies if legally permitted and beneficial to the member authorities.
