Decision

To carry out all necessary design, modelling
and installation work to traffic signal equipment and software via
the Public Realm Contract with Balfour Beatty Living Places to
allow the following:

a) Aylestone Hill, City Link Road, Commercial Road, Stonebow Road
and Union Walk
- replacement of in ground inductive loop systems with above ground
detectors where appropriate on Aylestone Hill, City Link Road,
Commercial Road, Stonebow Road and Union Walk
- upgrade of the traffic signal controller to link the traffic
signal junctions and crossings where appropriate on Aylestone Hill,
City Link Road, Commercial Road, Stonebow Road and Union
Walk.

b) Whitecross Road
- introduction of a pedestrian phase at the junction of Whitecross
Road/Eign Street on the A438 to the west of the city.

c) Upgrade of UTC system
- upgrade of the existing UTC system and associated servers to a
cloud based system to allow the benefits of a) and b) above to be
fully realised in the future.
