Purpose

To approve executive responses to outstanding
notices of motion agreed at meetings of the full Council.

Decision

a)   
The executive responses to notices of
motion contained in appendix a are approved.
 

Alternative options considered

1.            
To not provide executive responses to notices of
motion and continue to consider previously agreed motions as
outstanding, requiring the provision of updates. This is not
recommended as historic and previously agreed motions cannot be
considered outstanding for the following reasons: a significant
amount of work has been undertaken on a number of agreed motions
fulfilling the requirements in the resolutions; in some cases the
policy context has changed and the motions are no longer relevant;
and in some cases the motions, as previously agreed, are not viable
for implementation following further investigations.
2.            
To continue to consider the attached listing of
motions as outstanding would not provide any clarity regarding the
actions the executive and council is taking and the requirement to
continue to provide updates would be administratively
burdensome.
