Purpose

• The Council in partnership with
Leominster Town Council (LTC) are carrying out refurbishment of the
central area of Leominster, designated as Leominster Heritage
Action Zone (HAZ) in consultation with Historic England using funds
awarded under the government scheme for heritage regeneration
projects.
• During the period of the work, (approximately 6 months in
early 2024) it will be necessary for the weekly street markets and
the monthly farmers markets run by LTC to be relocated to an
alternative location.
• A review of possible sites was carried out and it has been
agreed that part of Etnam Street car park which is owned by the
Council is the most suitable.
• The occupation will be documented by a licence to occupy
under which LTC will be responsible for managing the markets,
clearing any litter, for reinstating any damage caused, managing
any altered traffic flows necessary and holding all appropriate
insurances
• The parking manager has been consulted and has no objection
to use of part of the car park for this purpose
