Purpose

• Broadlands childrens centre is owned by
the Council and is currently occupied under a MOU by Aylestone
School who have confirmed the property is currently surplus to
their need for space.
• Aylestone School have agreed to surrender the existing MOU
to allow occupation by Brookfield School Ltd on the understanding
that should this change the property will be offered back to them
prior to an alternative user being sought
• There is a growing need for SEN places in the county and
pressure on existing SEN places.
• The intervention work to be carried out by Brookfield School
Ltd in the property is directed at helping children who are at risk
of exclusion to remain in and benefit from mainstream education and
thus reduce pressure on SEN places
• The licence will be on the basis that Brookfield School Ltd
pay all costs/outgoings in respect of the property including mains
services, repairs and maintenance , business rates
