Purpose

1.1         To seek approval to allocate £120,000 of the unclaimed Council Tax increase 2023/24 refunds, to the following schemes which support the most vulnerable in our community.

1.2         Hertsmere Citizen’s Advice £60k – to supplement the £40,000 allocated from 2024/2025 UK Shared Prosperity Fund to enable an advisor to be engaged for a 2 year period.

1.3         Hertsmere Food Banks £30k – to provide support to the three foodbanks across the borough to support people with access to food and energy support and items such as school uniforms.

Give Help Share Charity £30k – to provide support for food distribution, crisis support and education campaigns through local school networks.
