RESOLVED
 
i)             
The method of calculating hackney carriage fares, as set out in
Appendix A to this report be agreed;

 
ii)            
The revised table of fares as set out in Appendix B to this report
be approved;
 
iii)          
That the revised table of fares be subject to public consultation
from 27 March 2025 to 10 April 2025 (“the consultation
period”) and to delegate authority to the Head of
Environmental Health and Licensing to undertake all necessary
action in connection with the said consultation be agreed; and
 
iv)          
That the revised table of fares will be effective from 11 April
2025 if no objections are received during the consultation period,
be noted.
 
 
REASONS
 
i)             
To revise hackney carriage fares throughout the District; and

 
ii)            
To provide consistency in the setting of hackney carriage
fares.
 
 
ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS CONSIDERED BUT REJECTED AS
IDENTIFIED IN THE REPORT
 
To not review hackney tariffs may lead to a
reduction in the availability of hackney carriages in the Horsham
District. This would have an adverse effect on drivers and the
travelling public.
