RESOLVED
 
i)             
That the Enterprising Horsham Economic Prospectus and Enterprising
Horsham Business Charter as contained in Appendices 1 and 2 to this
report be approved and adopted

 
ii)            
That authority be delegated to the Director of Place, in
consultation with the Cabinet Member for Economic Development and
Property, to make such minor changes to the documents as may be
required prior to publication; and
 
iii)          
That authority be delegated to the Director of Place, in
consultation with the Cabinet Member for Economic Development and
Property, to approve all other documents emerging as part of the
Economic Development Framework.
 
 
REASON
 
To put in place and drive forward the
Council’s updated economic policy following a period of
stakeholder consultation.
 
ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS CONSIDERED BUT REJECTED AS
IDENTIFIED IN THE REPORT
 
A one-time traditional one document strategy
was considered, but rejected in favour
of a framework approach in order to provide a blend of certainty
and flexibility that is considered essential in the current
economic climate. A framework approach will enable both early
traction in the form of a vision and direction of travel and
long-term momentum via priority actions which can be developed and
delivered as and when required. 6.
