RESOLVED
 
i)             
The award of a contract for the supply and delivery of HVO fuel to
the winning bidder following the conclusion of a procurement
exercise using a Crown Commercial Service Framework be approved;
and

 
ii)            
That authority be delegated to the Director of Communities, in
consultation with the Head of Legal and Democratic Services, to
finalise the terms and conditions of and enter into the contract
with the winning bidder.
 
 
REASON
 
Being in a contract for the supply and
delivery of HVO fuel is expected to achieve cost savings compared
with not being in a contract.
 
ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS CONSIDERED BUT REJECTED AS
IDENTIFIED IN THE REPORT
 
Spot purchase fuel on an ad hoc basis from the
Council’s current supplier. This could mean paying slightly
more per litre which would not represent best value.Purchase diesel which is cheaper but does not
provide the emissions savings.
