To approve the purchase of 2 x Scrubber Dryer
for the use of cleaning each level on the town centre car parks.
These are used by the town centre cleaning team and both scrubber
dryers will cost £77,200.
 
To approve the award of the required purchase
contract to the supplier selected pursuant to the relevant
framework agreement (the contract).
 
To finalise the terms and conditions of and
enter into the contract in consultation with the Head of Legal and
Democratic Services.
 

Reasons for the decision

The existing scrubber dryers
are due for replacement and have come to the end of their useful
economic life.
 
The cost for both Scrubber Dryers is
£77,200. This cost is taken into consideration within the
agreed Capital Replacement Budget for 2025/26 financial year.

Alternative options considered

Hire replacement scrubber
dryers, these are very hard to get on hire. If able to hire would
cost in the region of £200 P/W and is not sustainable from
our set budgets.
 
To carry on using the current vehicle at risk
of overspending on the budget for maintenance and also risk not
having scrubber dryers to clean the car parks to the standard
required.
