To approve the award of a contract for the
resurfacing of Rookwood Road (to include ditch clearance)
(“the contract”) to the supplier identified and at the
cost outlined in the exempt appendix.
 
To delegate authority to the Director of Place
in consultation with the Head of Legal and Democratic Services to
finalise the terms and conditions of, and to approve the entering
into, of the contract. 

Reasons for the decision

The works are the
responsibility of the Council under the terms of a
lease.
 
The successful bidder achieved
the best score based on a 70/30 price to quality split via a closed
tender to 5 contractors.

Alternative options considered

To carry out an open tender.
This was rejected due to time constraints.
 
Not to undertake the works. This was rejected
due to the responsibility under the lease.
