Reasons for the decision
The existing vehicle is now due for
replacement and can be reused
in another department to finish the rest of
it’s useful life.
The cost of the vehicle is £39880. The
vehicle is on the capital
replacement plan for the 2025/26 financial
year.
Alternative options considered
Electric vehicles were considered, but none
are suitable for
operational requirements at present.
Hiring a replacement vehicle at £300 per
week was rejected on
cost grounds.
To carry on using the current vehicle and risk
overspending on
the budget for maintenance and also
risk not being able to get
parts.
