Decision to approve the award of the future
contract for supply of Technology Enabled Care equipment to the
existing supplier for one year, with an option to extend for a
further year
 

Reasons for the decision

The Council entered into a
contract in 2023 for the supply of telecare equipment (personal
alarms etc) for users of the Community Link service. The contract
was procured via the Northern Housing Consortium (NHC) Framework.
The contract needs to be renewed with the same supplier for the
next 1+ 1 years to ensure continuity of supply at the agreed
prices.
 

Alternative options considered

·        
To choose a different supplier, but those suppliers
assessed during procurement 2 years ago have not improved their
offer and the costs of dealing with two suppliers would increase
internal costs; or
·        
Not to appoint a supplier, which would prevent
Community Link from providing the service to vulnerable
clients.
