Content
To award a contract for the purchase of 1 x
electric Maxus eDeliver9 fitters van for use by the Workshop Team
at Hurst Road workshop at a cost of £57,675 to the supplier
selected pursuant to the relevant framework agreement (‘the
contract’).
To finalise the terms and conditions of, and
to approve the entering into of, the
contract in consultation with the Head of Legal and Democratic
Services.
Reasons for the decision
Cabinet authorised the acquisition of an
additional workshop van at its meeting on 19 November 2025. This
vehicle is required to enable the fitters based at the new workshop
in Hurst Road to carry out breakdowns, pick up parts and move
between the two depots as required.
The cost of the vehicle is £57,675. This
expenditure has been accounted for in the additional capital budget
for the 2025/26 financial year agreed by Council on 3 December
2025.
Alternative options considered
Purchasing a HVO vehicle has been considered
but rejected as it is not in line with the Council’s
aspiration to be carbon neutral by 2030.
