Purpose

To approve the award of the contract to Bartec for
an in-cab IT system which is used to plan the round routes, log
issues and is constantly being developed to enable us to improve
and develop our services.

This contract is for a four-year term from
1st October 2023 to 30th September 2027 and
has been procured via the Government’s CCS G-Cloud 13
framework.

Reason for
decision:  We need to find a supplier to
fulfil this contract because we are nearing the end of our current
contract and thus a procurement exercise has taken place to analyse
the requirements for our In-cab vehicle technology systems. Four
potential suppliers were identified during the exercise. A thorough
procurement process, under the G-Cloud 13 framework, was
undertaken. One supplier was identified as being able to fully meet
the Council’s specification, which was Bartec.

The cost of the four-year
contact is over £100,000 but below £250,000 and
therefore requires Cabinet Member approval.
