RECOMMENDED TO
COUNCIL
 
i)             
Approves the receipt of the additional Homelessness Prevention
Grant of £266,546.

 
ii)            
Approve an increase in the Housing Service 2024/25 revenue income
and expenditure budgets of £266,546 to enable the receipt of
the additional grant.
 
Subject to Council approval noted above, the
Cabinet is recommended to approve the expenditure of the grant in
the sum of £266,546 on the Council’s Homelessness
Prevention and Relief Service.
 
REASON
 
i)             
Increasing the Housing Service revenue income and expenditure
budget will allow the Council to receive and spend the grant
provided by DLUHC

 
ii)            
Full Council must approve an increase to the Housing Service budget
and the Cabinet must approve expenditure of the grant monies.

 
iii)          
The additional grant will allow the Council to provide appropriate
housing options and prevent homelessness, thereby reducing the
impact on the General Fund.
