RESOLVED
i)
To approve the termination of a lease of existing premises as
detailed in the exempt appendix;
ii)
To approve the acquisition and refurbishment of leasehold premises
as detailed in the exempt appendix;
iii)
To delegate authority to the Director of Place, the Director of
Resources and the Head of Legal and Democratic Services, in
consultation with the Cabinet Member for Local Economy and Place to
finalise the terms of and enter into/serve any documentation
required to give effect to the first two recommendations
abovenoted;
iv)
To recommend that Council approves a revenue budget of £2.5 M
for costs associated with the first two recommendations; and
v)
To recommend that Council delegates authority to the Director of
Resources to remove any allocated capital budget for the existing
premises from the 2024/25 capital programme, as this will no longer
be required.
REASON
i)
The premises to be acquired will likely offer greater
environmental, operational and financial benefits compared to
premises presently held by the Council.
ii)
To secure continuous improvement.
iii)
Full Council must approve revenue and capital budgets.
iv)
Please refer to the exempt appendix.
