Cabinet agreed to commence a consultation exercise for a minimum of
10 weeks on proposals to implement a new boroughwide Additional
Licensing Scheme for Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) that were
not covered by the national mandatory scheme on the expiry of the
current scheme on 31st July 2025.

Cabinet noted the findings within Appendix 1 of the submitted
report - Additional HMO Licensing Consultation Evidence Pack.

Cabinet noted that the findings indicated that a significant
proportion of HMOs in the Council`s area was being managed
ineffectively.
