Following discussion on the motion related to
Heathrow Airport, as amended, Borough Council resolved:
•
To work cross-party with all councillors, local MPs, the Mayor of
London, Assembly Members, neighbouring Local Authorities, and
community groups to ensure Heathrow operates sustainably and in the
best interests of Hounslow residents.
•
To work with Government to play our part in their mission for
national growth. Our Business Case for Growth - a bold, actionable
strategy - shows we can lead economic regeneration for London and
the wider UK. With the right investment and support, Hounslow will
continue to be a key player in the nation’s recovery and
future prosperity.
•
To work with the Chief Executive of Heathrow Airport, the airline
industries and other key stakeholders to ensure the right
investment and action translates into a determined effort to
mitigate any negative effects of airport operations on our
communities, and to facilitate engagement with all of Hounslow
residents.
•
To continue to work with the Heathrow Strategic Planning Group and
the Council for the Independent Scrutiny of Heathrow Airport to get
the best deal for our residents.
•
To reaffirm its position that we stand for a ‘better, not
bigger’ Heathrow.
