Policy
1.
Cabinet noted and approved the Nature Recovery
Action Plan 2023 - 2028, which, if approved, would be adopted with
immediate effect (Appendix A and section 3.3 – 3.10 of the
submitted report).
2.
Cabinet agreed the Delivery Plan for implementing
the Nature Recovery Action Plan 2023 – 2028 (Appendix A,
section 3.12 of the submitted report).
3.
Cabinet noted and approved the Tree Management
Policy, which if approved, would be adopted with immediate effect
(Appendix B and section 3.19-3.21 of the submitted
reports).
Resource
requirements
4.
Cabinet approved the allocation of £165,000
(£125,000 capital grant funding and £40,000 revenue
grant funding to be spent in 2023/24 and 2024/25) that was
allocated to the Council from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to
deliver the Grow for the Future Project (paragraph 3.22 of the
submitted report), and the associated budget virements to reflect
this project and its associated funding in the Council’s
general fund capital programme and revenue budget.
Stakeholder engagement and
collaboration

Cabinet endorsed the creation of a borough wide
partnership led Nature Recovery Stakeholder Board, made up of
various stakeholders, that can suitably take forward the actions in
this plan and report on their progress. This Board would report
into the Place Programme Board leading on the implementation of the
One Hounslow Delivery Plan. See section 3.13-3.15 of the submitted
report.
Delegated authority
6.
Cabinet delegated authority to the Executive
Director of Environment, Culture and Customer Services for all
future decisions regarding the shaping of and implementation of the
Nature Recovery Action Plan and the Tree Management Strategy with
subsequent projects being subject to individual business case(s) as
they arise.
