Purpose

Environmental Protection require a contractor
to carry out contaminated land assessments of sites identified to
meet the legal duty on the Council as part of the Contaminated Land
Strategy.
 
A competitive, open tender process was held
and three compliant bids were received.
 
The contract is for a period of 60 months to
provide this service from 1st February 2025 to 31st January 2030
utilising the available budget for each financial year. Currently
this is for the sum of £10,000 each financial year, totalling
£50,000.
 
The possibility of undertaking this work
in-house was rejected as the team do not currently have the
capacity or resources to carry out this work.
