January 29, 2025 Officer Decision (Officer) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
The Council has to carry out some water
hygiene works at Mayo Court and Gwent House as a result of routine
compliance maintenance and testing. It has been decided to appoint
NEMCO to assist with these two sites by undertaking an assessment,
samples and remedial work. The estimated value of this proactive
maintenance work is in the region of £5,050 together with a
contingency of £10,000 for any follow up work or other urgent
matters that arise.
Decision
To appoint NEMCO to undertake the water
hygiene works at an estimated cost of £5,050 at the earliest
opportunity, and to maintain a contingency of £10,000 to
cover any further water hygiene actions that arise.
Reason:
To provide an assessment of the existing
systems, advice on any immediate actions and to provide an
effective management programme to maintain water hygiene at the
properties. To waive Contract Standing Orders (3.10.2) to mitigate
any risk to vulnerable residents at sheltered schemes.
