Full council record
Purpose
The existing VRF AC systems for this site (IP
City) are obsolete and are no longer able to be repaired.
The location of the units in the building
means they are largely south facing resulting in increasing thermal
gains during the day which is exacerbated through the summer.
This exemption from CSOs has been granted for
temporary AC rental in addition to the temporary AC system rentals
at this site for Units 3, 15 & 19/20.
The contractor appointed to undertake this
work has facilitated the temporary AC rental for other units at
this site and been involved in the ongoing issues at IP City for
years and is familiar with the site requirements and urgency of the
works.
Price:
Quote for AC works received from Pitkin &
Ruddock:
Unit 18 £16,176.00 (excl. VAT)
Unit 21 £7,536.00 (excl. VAT)
Total for all works: £23,712.00 (excl.
VAT)
Decision
Following an exemption approval from Director
– Resources & Housing a decision has been made to award
the works to Pitkin & Ruddock and for temporary cooling for
Units 18 & 21 at IP City.
Reason:
Lack of heating and cooling in the space
making it unsuitable for tenants to continue work.
