Full council record
Purpose
The Chapel and accompanying facilities at the
Ipswich Crematorium are used regularly for funerary services for
the people of Ipswich and surrounding areas. The space and comfort
heating for this area is generated by a gas fired boiler. This
serves the Chapel, Waiting Room, Toilets, Barers Waiting Room,
Staff Kitchen and Staff Changing Area.
Following a part failure within the boiler
causing the system to be flooded, the boiler has completely failed
and is not able to be repaired. The boiler needs to be replaced
including the flue rerouted to terminate through the side wall and
not its current path through the chimney stack as this is
inaccessible.
Decision
To direct award the contract for the
humidifier replacement to Olympus Mechanical Services
Reason:
An exemption to CSOs has been granted for
operational reasons.
