Purpose

Ipswich Borough Council requires a replacement
3.5T Flat Bed Tipper Vehicle in direct replacement for NA14XUS
which has both reached the end of its anticipated lifespan as well
as being only Euro 5 (Low Emission Vehicle).
 
The CCS Framework, RM6244 – Specialist
Vehicles, has been used to identify suitable purchase route.
 
The decision made is to procure a replacement
vehicle through the TGS Conversion specialist group post price
comparisons within the transport department at a total cost of
£37,830.00 + VAT. This vehicle features and represents:
- Renault Master, Euro 6 Ultra Low Emission
vehicle chassis (Van of the year 2025).
- Apex Tippa - OEM Grade Aluminium Tipping
Body.
- Full Fall Arrest including sidestep for load
bed access.
- VWS vehicle axle self-weighting system
including calibration.
- Top beacons and Chapter 8 chevrons.
- 3-year unlimited mileage warranty
 
This vehicle replacement represents another
step towards carbon neutrality within the council for the cleanest
possible fuelled vehicle for the role it will undertake.

Decision

To procure a replacement vehicle through the
TGS Conversion specialist group post price comparisons within the
transport department at a total cost of £37,830.00 + VAT.

To replace a vehicle which has reached the end
of its lifespan.
