Purpose

The Council owns and operates a number of
public car parks in Ipswich, including Princes Street Car Park,
Ipswich IP4 1RY.
 
The council has received a request for a
partial closure to be authorised to carry out essential maintenance
works to install the following:

·      
Two metal poles to be placed back in front of the Pay and Display
machine.

·      
Bicycle Rack to be re located and additional poles to be installed
to highlight where the motor bike anchor point is in place.

·      
Signage for motorcycle bay and bicycle rack to be installed.
 
The main alternative would be to not to agree
to the part closure and for works to not be completed.

Decision

To utilise the powers within the Ipswich
Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2022 to suspend 3
bays and motorcycle bay in Princes Street Car Park between Monday
12th June 2023 and Tuesday 13th June 2023 to accommodate work.
 
Reason:
To enable the essential maintenance works to
be completed.
