Purpose

The Council owns
and operates a number of public car parks in Ipswich, including
Portman Road D Car Park, Ipswich IP1 2BP.
 
The council has
received a request from Hewitt Sports Turf to make use of Portman
Road D car park for their work vehicles and associated machinery
whilst installing the new Ipswich Town Football Club playing
surface. They have said they will manage the site during the time
period proposed.
 
They will take over
the whole car park and will be on site between Sunday 07 May 2023
and Sunday 03 July 2023. Hewitt Sports Turf will pay for the lost
income of the bays and the relevant suspension fee.
 
The main
alternative would be to not accept their proposal, and not close
the car park.

DECISION:
To utilise the
powers within the Ipswich Borough Council (Off-Street Parking
Places) Order 2022 to suspend all bays within Potman Road D Car
Park between Sunday 07 May 2023 and Sunday 03 July 2023, to
accommodate work vehicles and associated machinery.
