Purpose

The Council owns and operates a number of
public car parks in Ipswich, including Princes Street Car Park,
Ipswich IP4 1RY.
 
The council has received a request for a full
closure to be authorised to carry out essential maintenance works
to allow for the temporary planning conditions to be met:
• Install motorcycle bays
• Install parking bay markers
(lining)
 
The works are due to commence as of Monday
24th of April and continue until Friday 28th of April 2023, which
will mean the car park will need to be closed for this
duration.
 
The main alternative would be to not close the
car park and for works not be completed, which would mean we would
not meet the temporary planning conditions.

Decision

To utilise the powers within the Ipswich
Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2022 to Full
Closure – Princes Street Car Park, Ipswich, IP4 1RY –
24th April to 28th April 2023.
 
Reason:
To allow for works to be completed.
