About

The Children's Services, Education and Skills Committee is responsible for a wide range of matters concerning children and young people on the Isle of Wight. This includes overseeing children's education, standards, and school improvement, as well as special educational needs and early years provision. The committee also addresses youth support and justice services, and children's social care, including safeguarding and looked-after children. It has a remit over school admissions, post-16 provision for young people not in education, employment, or training (NEETs), and children's physical and mental health services, including CAMHS. The committee also works with youth representatives and other stakeholders.
