About

The Environment and Community Protection Committee is responsible for a wide range of services and strategic areas affecting the Isle of Wight. It oversees matters concerning the island's UNESCO Biosphere status, climate change initiatives, and sustainability efforts. The committee also addresses waste management, recycling, and efforts to combat fly-tipping and litter. Additionally, it has a remit over flood and coastal risk management, leisure facilities, libraries, cultural services, public open spaces, parks, beaches, community resilience, and bereavement services.
