About

The Licensing Committee is responsible for making decisions on applications and appeals related to licences, consents, or permissions where the law requires elected members to decide. This includes matters governed by the Licensing Act 2003 and the Gambling Act 2005.

The committee also considers applications where an officer with delegated powers declines to act, or where the matter is not specifically delegated to another council body. Its full terms of reference are detailed in the Council Constitution.
