Purpose

The report will provide the
details of recommendations for a strategic decision related to the
island wide Speed Limits Review (SLR) project; this decision is
needed to allow the development of a delivery programme for speed
limits amendments on parts of the island’s
highway.
 

Content

Option 1
-  To approve
the recommendations as proposed:
 
That Cabinet
agrees the recommendations detailed within the Speed Limit Review
Summary Report (Appendix 1) and ratify the document for
publication.
 
And, agree to develop a three to five years
programme of works based on the recommendations set out within the
Speed Limit Review Summary Report (Appendix 1), subject to scheme
priorities and available funding allocations.
 
And, agree to commence work on a review of the Isle
of Wight Council Speed Limits Policy in line with the DfT’s
National Speed Limit.
