Full council record
Purpose

To reinstate PSPOs relating to the Dog Service
– dogs on beaches, dogs on leads and dog fouling. Taking into
account feedback from consultation with Town & Parish Councils
and members of the public.

Content

That Cabinet approves the reinstatement of the
Public Spaces Protection Orders relating to dogs as set out in this
report.

In three years’ time, when the PSPO
policy comes up for renewal, the consultation responses will be
divided into wards to be able to assess more specific views, to
include time periods, and the PSPO orders made accordingly.

At this time, 2024, the maps in Sandown will
be changed so that the western boundary of the Sandown Dog
Exclusion Zone is reduced eastward to stop at the groyne east of
the public toilets near Lake Slipway. The signage and maps required
for enforcing the Dog Exclusion Zone will be audited and the number
of required replacements costed.
