Purpose

This Forward Plan covers the
Procurement Strategy and Contract Award decisions in relation to
the installation of Automatic Opening Ventilation (AOV) to communal
windows located on 3rd and 7th floors on each block to avoid hot
smoke layer from stratifying at this level and prevent this
condition from occurring in the case of a fire outbreak.
 

Decision

The
Executive Director AGREED:

To waiver
from the competition requirements of the Council’s Contract
Regulations in relation to a public works contract.
To
‘direct contract’ award to Electroplan Contracting Limited (03182897) to
supply and install AoV to communal
windows on 4 x. blocks on Cremorne Estate, for an estimated
contract value of £306,403.00 exc. VAT (£367,683.60
including VAT), for a programme period of up to 14
weeks.
For the
client to hold a contingency as set out in the exempt
appendix.
To
delegate authority to the Head of Fire Safety to draw down the
contingency sums.
