Purpose
To present street cleansing and
waste collection options that would enhance the public realm. These
options will provide improvements to services such as litter bin
emptying, street washing and street sweeping.
Decision
The
Lead Member AGREED:
1.
To support for the six contract variations set out
in section 5 of the report, which will contribute to enhancing the
waste collection and street cleansing services delivered by the
Council
2.
That the contract for Recycling and Waste
Collection, Street Cleansing and Ancillary Services Contract with
Suez Recycling and Recovery Limited be varied to implement the
variations agreed under the previous recommendation, at the costs
and timescales set out in sections 5 and 6.1.
3.
To approve the drawdown of up to £153,110.30
from the car parking reserve) to fund the options that can be
implemented in 2025/26. This assumes all available options that can
be delivered in year are chosen.
4.
To note that the permanent request for funding has
been requested through the MTFS Budget Setting process and agree to
delegate to the Executive Director for Environment and
Neighbourhoods the decision to reduce the scope of any contract
variation should the budget for the variations approved by
Leadership Team not be approved.
