Purpose
This report seeks approval for the
acquisition of a property to enable the Bi-Borough
Commissioning Department, which serves both RBKC Council and
Westminster City Council, to utilise it as a centre for respite and
crisis support. The acquisition would enable the expansion of the
service and improve the quality and capacity of the accommodation
for clients who are either a) discharged from hospital or b) in
crisis in the community.
Decision
The
Leader of the Council AGREED:
(I.)
To approve the purchase of 20 Kingsbridge Road, W10, from NHS
Property Services on the terms and for the amount identified in
confidential Part B (Appendix One).
(II.)
To approve the addition of the funding for this project identified
in the Capital Pipeline to the Capital Programme.
(III.)
From the Capital Programme budget, to approve £600,000 to
cover stamp duty, fees, immediate repair requirements and
feasibility work for refurbishment, remodelling or rebuild, pending
option appraisal and decisions about the longer-term investment in
Learning Disability accommodation at this site.
(IV.)
To approve the Council taking the responsibility for chasing rent
arrears from LDN London included in confidential Part B (Appendix
One).
(V.)
To delegate approval of any non-material amendments to the heads of
terms (non-financial) to the Director of Social Investment and
Property.
