Purpose

The
current arrangements for delivering youth services are due to end
31 August 2023. The current commissioned offer includes five youth
clubs, water sports and outdoor education provision and London
Youth Games. It is proposed that existing youth contracts and
grants are extended via direct award for an interim period to allow
time for officers to undertake a wider review of Youth Services,
ensuring that there is opportunity for robust engagement,
integrated modelling of the current offer, and a comprehensive
understanding of the needs of young people in the
borough.

A waiver from the requirements of the
Council’s Contract Regulations (see 6.1 for endorsement of
this from the Director of Audit, Fraud, Risk and Insurance).
 
    
ii.        
The direct award of 5 contracts and 2 grants for the
provision of commissioned youth services for a period of 7 months
for a total pro rata value of £213,500 as follows:
