Shareholder Committee

The Shareholder Committee is an executive sub-committee of the Cabinet responsible for fulfilling the Council's role as a shareholder in companies wholly owned by King's Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council. It acts as the main point of contact between the Council and these companies, ensuring they align with the Council's strategic goals, deliver on their business plans, and protect the Council's financial, reputational, and legal interests. The committee holds company directors accountable for performance and compliance. It approves annual business plans, reviews governance documents, and makes decisions on matters reserved for the shareholder, including director appointments. The committee's decisions are subject to scrutiny and call-in procedures.
