Purpose
West Yorkshire is one of eight Economic
Inactivity Trailblazer areas in the UK that will pilot new
approaches to supporting economically inactive residents with
long-term limiting health conditions into good work. The
Trailblazer programme is one of the initiatives arising from the
Get Britain Working White Paper and is expected to operate in
2025/26 only.
Acceptance of external funding from West
Yorkshire Combined Authority will enable the Council to deliver
elements of the West Yorkshire Economic Inactivity Trailblazer
programme in Kirklees.

The decision is to
• accept
external funding of £600,000 from West Yorkshire Combined
Authority and for the Council to act as Accountable Body for the
grant in accord with sections 22.5 and 22.6 of the Council’s
Financial Procedure Rules; and
•
facilitate the commencement and award of any related procurement
exercises in accord with the Council’s Contract Procedure
Rules.
