Purpose

The decision has been taken
for Kirklees Council to sign this agreement with WYCA. This
agreement provides the framework under which Kirklees Council is
able to reclaim its accrued costs associated with the development
of the West Yorkshire Mass Transit scheme.
 
Detailed tasks for which
funding can be reclaimed will be agreed through Schedules agreed
with WYCA. These will be agreed in advance of such works
commencing.
 
No other options were
considered by officers, as this agreement has been proposed by
WYCA.
 
As the agreement is to be
signed by all West Yorkshire Districts, this will take affect from
the time at which the last District signs the agreement. This is
anticipated to be during November 2023.
