Re Tender of the Kirklees Integrated Equipment Service (KICES)
January 18, 2024 Service Director - Adults Social Care Operation (Other) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
KICES is a statutory
service, funded by a section 74 pooled budget with funding from
Adult Social Care, Childrens and Health. The current arrangement is
due to end on 31st March 2025. This service requires a retender to
ensure continuity of service. The alternative would be to bring the
service ‘in house’ however this is rejected as it is
recognised that the current arrangement is a more cost-effective
option and allows us to maximise the support we can offer to
residents.
For clarity, this is to re
tender an existing, statutory service for which a budget is already
approved and in place.
Content
Decision to re tender the
service to ensure continuity in provision and award the contract at
the end of the procurement process for a term of 5 years, with the
option to extend by up to another 5 years.
