Purpose

The Planning Advisory Service
(PAS) who are part of the Local Government Association (LGA)
deliver a planning graduate scheme called Pathways to Planning.
Pathways to Planning is administered by PAS and they provide
funding for a recent graduate to complete a masters degree in planning whilst placed in a
Council’s Planning Service. Knowsley Council has recently
decided to prepare a new Local Plan which will require a greater
staff resource and it is proposed to recruit a graduate from the
Pathways to Planning programme.

Decision

To approve the creation of a new Career Grade
Planning Officer post for a temporary period of 2 years.
